Our process goes far beyond in-house expertise. TCCA utilises an extensive database of over 50,000 verified autograph examples, spanning multiple eras, individuals, and collecting environments worldwide. When necessary, we supplement this with additional external research to ensure every authentication decision is made with the highest level of confidence and accuracy.
We employ advanced authentication techniques and detailed forensic analysis to examine each piece. This includes verifying the presence of live ink, eliminating the risk of printed signatures, and closely analysing ink flow characteristics to detect potential machine-assisted or non-hand-signed autographs.

Our Authentication Process
Our team have a wide variety of knowledge, that is complemented by innovative methods and cutting-edge technology to perform our 3-step process
1. INSPECTION
TCCA authenticators conduct Ink analysis, Autograph formation analysis, Item evaluation and finally side-by-side comparisons against multiple authentic examples.
2. STICKER APPLICATION & DOCUMENTATION
Once our team have concluded their research, The item will be given a certification sticker, which will be placed on the item (Usually in the bottom right corner on photographs, but can be placed where the owner desires.) The sticker bears an alphanumerical serial number, This is the code that you would search to view the item in our database, A letter of authentication is printed also to coincide with the item, which contains all of the information that is shown in our database but in handheld form.
3. RETURNING YOUR ITEM
Our team will try its best to return your item via the same packaging method used originally to deliver to TCCA. All of our shipments will be mailed via Royal Mail and they will be insured to the value noted from your initial submission. We will try our best to recycle packaging but it can't always be guaranteed. Regardless of if your item gets authenticated by us it will be returned to you.
Possible Authentication Results Explained
Passed
TCCA has deemed your item Authentic, it has been stickered, added to the database and will be sent back with a Letter Of Authenticity.
Inconclusive
TCCA has deemed your item Inconclusive, we have not been able to render an opinion but you will receive a refund and your item will be sent back to you.
Failed
TCCA has deemed your item as Not Genuine, you will not receive a refund and your item will be sent back to you.
